Civil War Hat, Confederate CSA Hat, 13 Th. Texas Volunteers, John E. Moore:
$4575.00

Civil War 13th Texas Volunteers hat of John E. Moore.

I attempted to capture every photo angle, some photo’s make the hat appear lighter due to flash and lighting, the hat has dark areas and stains throughout.

Please use photos for description and condition evaluation, some of our pieces were not stored in the best environment and have moisture stains and discoloration present.

The hat has wear throughout with moth holes, stains, dark spots, light spots, fading, abrasions, cracks and separations. The hat is able to be handled and is not in a crumble state, the hat cord is in beautiful condition with a few areas of abrasions but is in tact. The star on the hat has heavy corrosion and rust with areas of flaking and is attached by a wire, the star has no visible markings.

The hat has shadow marks on it where the papers were attached by a paper clip, the hat has remains of initials on the inside marked J e M.

Attached to the hat is a United Daughter’s of the Confederacy paper dated 1929 naming John E. Moore that served with the 13th Texas Volunteer Cavalry, Artillery and Infantry, a 1800’s envelope is attached from an estate in Texas with only a pocket watch inside and no letter, it has staining, discoloration and a shadow markings in the paper from the pocket watch resting inside. the paperwork is in very fragile condition but can be handled carefully.

The pocket watch is complete but the rear case back hinge is broken and no winding key is present, the watch is in unknown working condition and appears to be of European manufacturing, the inside of watch has part of initials J E on inside.

Please message with any questions and I will respond promptly.

The hat will be packaged with great care and shipped priority with tracking, insurance and signature required on delivery.

USA only shipping addresses.

I will be listing our family’s entire Civil War collection dating back several generations of mostly southern pieces from South Carolina, Georgia and Texas.
