Antique steel plate engraving of Civil War general Philip Sheridan, 1831 to 1888. Agreed to the destruction of the Buffalo in order to subdue. American Indians encourage the preservation of the Yellowstone area Mount Sheridan named after him. This is a steel plate and engraving on paper from a series of eminent Americanspublished by Johnson and Fry New York City in the 1860s. These prints were a series sold by subscription. And very well preserved condition, some aging of the paper, but really exposed to light.
