Circa 1876 –This was a parade flag, detached from its stick. Please see last photo for description. These 13 starCentennialMedallion Configurationparade flags were produced from 1861 to 1876.ParadeFlags like this were a piece of industrial history as they were produced on aroll, printed on one side, and then shipped to Hardware and General Storeswhich would sell to the general public for ceremonies. Mounted in a early gold painted frame.
NOTE: this one is larger than the other one I have posted (#1 and #3) and the star pattern is different, as these stars line up vertically.Please see my other sales for more great pieces of earlyAmericana & folk art.
