Circa 1876 13-star CentennialMedallion Parade Flag. Around 1876, America was celebrating its Centennial and flag production took off as American saw the flag as a symbol of patriotism. The flag became a symbol of all that Americans stood for and the spirit of freedom that built this country. Made of starched muslin with print dye. Parade Flags like this are a piece ofAmerican history as they were produced on a roll, printed on one side, attachedto wooden sticks using adhesive, and then shipped to Hardware and GeneralStores in packages of 12, which would sell to the general public for ceremonies.
Flag has early writing on it, but too difficult to make out. Great piece of American history! 100% authentic. Collect and decorate with American History! Ready to hang.
