Chinese Celadon Hand-Painted Small Bowl - 1840-1860: $68.00
Mid-hue celadon small bowl with interpretive fronds of grasses painted underglaze in brown and green. The central white flower encircled by leaves is decorated over glaze (clobbered). Rim is cafe au lait. Foot rim is unglazed. Base is glazed and exhibits glaze depressions indicative of kiln work of the period. Bowl interior likewise exhibits pinhead-sized glaze pops and one larger iron-spot, also indicative of age. Glaze in interior bowl has a slightly blueish hue.
