This listing is for a rare old hand carved and painted totem pole dating from the 1950s. The totem is well carved and is painted in old and original pigments of yellow, green, red, orange and black. The carving is attributed to Chief White Eagle, who we learned was one of the first carvers for the Ye Olde Curiosity Shop in Seattle, Washington; operating since 1899 in downtown Seattle. The totem has an ink stamp noted to the back from Ye Olde Curiosity Shop. This old piece measures approximately 12.9” high x 3.5” diameter. It is gently used with minimal wear.
