Up for sale today is this Cedar Springs, Summit Valley, Cajon Pass sign. Made to the exact standards as used around 1922-28 by the Auto Club of Southern California in the San Bernardino Mountains and elsewhere. the sign shown here was posted on the old state highway 138 (probably Burnt Mill Road or something similar near there), east of Cajon Pass. The original of these, complete with the logos of the United States Forest Service and the Automobile Club of Southern California, would cost many thousands of dollars if it even survives at all. This sign is a faithful remake to the correct size (18 inches on a side, or about 25 1/2 inches up and down between the points), and weighs about 8 pounds, 4 ounces. please note that I can make a diamond sign for any set of destinations. inquire about custom orders! This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection.
