A GUIDE TO COMIC BOOK GRADES.NM, Near Mint = Like New. A grader reallyhas to look close to find any flaws at all. Comic might have one tinycolor flake, or other very minor blemish.VF/NM, Very Fine to Near Mint = Nearly perfect, but upon closer look, there is a tiny flaw or two that keep it from near mint.VF, Very Fine = Almost Like New with just a couple of tiny,barely noticeable flaws. One or two small color flakes along the spineare acceptable, but no folds or tears.Possible spine ticks.
F, Fine = A nice lookingcomic. Still Glossy and handsome, but has more noticeable flaws such asseveral color flakes along the spine. The cover should still be firmlyattached at the staples.Spine ticks are more noticeable.
VG, Very Good = A decent looking comicthat is showing more heavy wear. May have crease on a page or two. May have a loose staple, slightly bent pages.
G, Good = Well worn, but stillsound. Generally the lowest grade that most COLLECTORS will accept formost books. Could be soiled, lack colorgloss or have tape on it. Some drawing on cover is acceptable in thisgrade.
Parts/Pieces or Readers
FA, Fair = Really beat. Can Have large chunks missing of a page or more missing, acompletely split cover, or coupons cut out. Cover may be scribbledon.
P, Poor = Just about as bad as you can get. The book is missing pages. Cover or back cover is missing or barely there.Pages could be aged and possibly musky. Moisture damage is possible.
