This Fine Art Print by Artist Craig Tinder illustrates Flt. Lt. Eric Stanley Lock of No. 611 Squadron - the highest-scoring Allied pilot during the Battle of Britain.

Medium 18" x 12" (45.7 cm x 30.5 cm) gallery-wrapped canvas print comes ready-to-hang and includes embedded fragments from a Supermarine Spitfire mounted on a beautifully engraved metallic data plate which outlines the details of the print and relic for all viewers to study. As an added touch, each canvas art piece is hand-signed by artist Craig Tinder and includes a metallic, Certificate of Authenticity for added provenance and collectibility.

Each Limited Edition Canvas Print is hand-crafted by Artist Craig Tinder using the highest quality materials and archival techniques. Each piece of artwork is created on-demand and typically takes 1-2 weeks for delivery.

About the Print:

This authentic Supermarine Spitfire relic came from a starboard cowl panel. This large panel still includes rivets and faint paint. This panel, along with other Spitfire parts, was used as a template to create new aluminum skin panels for the restoration of Spitfire Mark LF/IX TE517.

About the Artifact:

14 July 1941 - Flt. Lt. Eric Stanley Lock of No. 611 Squadron, engages an enemy Messerschmitt Bf 109 in his Spitfire Mk VB resulting in his 26th and final aerial victory. Flt. Lt. Lock was the highest-scoring Allied pilot during the Battle of Britain with 21 victories. During his final mission on 3 August 1941, he was last seen in Spitfire W3257 departing for a ground strafing attack. He never returned home.
