There are fewer and fewer estate sales than there were in years past. Items are becoming much harder to find. If you purchase this item, I hope you are happy and enjoy it. Condition for age as shown. CIVIL WAR PATRIOTIC COVER 74th Regt NYSM J. Sage & Sons Buffalo NY. Many years ago I bought a humongous 5" thick patriotic civil war covers scrapbook with hundreds of patriotic civil war covers, mostly all unused. It came from the TANGEMAN ESTATE in CINCINNATI. It was put together by the matriarch of the family during the civil war. CINCINNATI was a leading printing city during the civil war and alot of these were printed in CINCINNATI. TANGEMAN HALL on the UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI CAMPUS is named for this family. The covers were glued in on the verso edges, so there is faint glue lines on verso back edges. Overall they are in very good condition. Most of them were easy to steam out on the edges. I lost very few. I guarantee 100% that every one of these civil war covers is authentic. Just remember enlarged photos or scans tend to exaggerate any flaws. I've blown this up big enough so that you can see what your buying. SCROLL TO BOTTOM OF PAGE TO SEE ALL PHOTOS & SCANS.
