Up for sale is this vintage floor lamp. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This lamp has a sleek, chrome-plated metal base with a globe-shaped, white glass shade. Collectors refer to this type of design as a lollipop lamp. With the shade atop the lamp, this piece stands approximately 57 inches tall; the total weight is around 12 pounds. The shade by itself measures approximately 13 inches across. The lamp without the shade is approximately 48 1/2 inches tall, with a maximum diameter of about 10 inches. This has a black plastic cord. It has an on/off switch beneath the socket area, as shown in Photo 4. It would be a fabulous addition to a mid-century modern interior.The light bulb shown is for display only, and will not be included. The shade and the lamp will be shipped inside separate boxes.Identification
The lamp has no markings to indicate the manufacturer. This is a vintage lamp, and the exact age is not known. It is in the style of the Robert Sonneman lollipop lamp design.Condition
The lamp looks very good overall, as shown, with light wear. The chrome finish has very fine pitting and fine scratches. The glass shade has no cracks or chips; there is minor grinding roughness from manufacturing adjacent to the hole. The lamp works; as with all used electrical items, it should be inspected and/or rewired by a professional before use. The cord, socket, and plug look good cosmetically.
