Original CDV of a Civil War soldier in uniform. CDV is offered as found, still in its albumpage, which is included. Written on the album page below the photo is:

"Steven Rowan (M.D.?), Charlotte's brotherdied on way to Calif Gold Rush"

Obviously he didn't die in the original Gold Rush, since he was in the Civil War... the writingseems a little shaky, so it could be the poor recollection of an older person who added the noteyears later. **** At one time I had a note that read, "Steven Rowan, died of fever in New Orleans on the way to the Gold Rush", but I lost the note!In addition to be Charlotte's brother, I believe this man was related to Walter and Addie Mills Rowan of New York, other ID'd photos that I purchased along with this one years ago. I was able tofind the Walter and Addie's family tree but couldn't find a record of a Steven Rowan anywherein it. Anyway, this would be an interesting one to research.. at the very least it's a nice CDV of a Civil War soldier.

The CDV is 4" x 2.5" and is in excellent antique condition. Albumpage is 6.5" x 5".
