All our comics are brand new and unread and come directfrom our distributors (Diamond) or suppliers (DF).

Whatcondition are my comics in?

All comics we sell are near mint (NM) to mint (MT)unless otherwise stated and would normally be graded by CGC at 9.2 or higher.Please note that we are not professional graders and the grading of our booksare our professional opinion. CGC graded comics are of course grading by CGC,and the grade will be clearly visible on the slab.

Arethe comics shipped in bags and boards?

Yes all our comics are bagged and boarded. Inaddition we will label your package as fragile and use additional boarding toprevent your comic from getting damaged. GCG slabbed comics are bubble wrappedand boxed to prevent damage.

Whatforms of payment do you accept?

We only accept payments via PayPal.

Whendo I need to pay for the item?

Unless otherwise noted, all products sold by the NewYork Hobbyist are fixed price and payment should be submitted immediately uponpurchase.

Doyou charge sales tax?

There is no sales tax for non New York Stateresidents.

For New York State residents only: There is no salestax on new release comics that sell for cover price. However, there is a 4%sales tax charge on all comics that do not sell at face value, this includesspecial variants, signed, and or graded comics that sell above the cover priceunless it is a new release. In addition back issue comics that sell above or belowcover price are also subject to NYS sales tax.

Doyou ship internationally?

Yes, we ship internationally via ’s GlobalShipping Program (GSP). For a complete listing of countries we currently shipto, please visit:

International shipping is done be a third partycontracted by and is not affiliated or controlled by the New York Hobbyist.Once the item reaches ’s international distribution center we are no longerresponsible for the package.

Whodo you ship via?

All our packages are shipped via USPS domestically.You many choose to have your comics shipped via Parcel Select (economy mail, usually2-9 days), or Priority mail (1-3 days), or First class for packages weighing lessthan 13 oz (usually a single comic). Internationally, our packages are shippedvia GSP (see above).

Howlong will it take for my item(s) to be shipped?

Our goal is to get you your item(s) as fast aspossible. In stock items are typically shipped in one day after payment hasbeen confirmed. For particularly large orders, please allow up to three daysmaximum. We ship packages Monday through Saturday (closed Sundays). Please notethat we only ship to confirmed PayPal addresses. The same applies tointernational orders during the domestic portion of their route.

If it is a pre-sale item, it will ship as soon as wereceive it from our distributors. See pre-order policy below.

Ipurchased an item but have not received it yet. What should I do?

For any concerns you may have about a purchase youshould contact us via messaging. We always respond, usually in 24 hours.DO NOT open a case to ask a question or to inquire about a purchase withoutcontacting us through messaging first. Opening a case is very serious andaffects us negatively and should only be done AFTER we have not satisfactorilyaddressed your issue.

I live in NY/NJ; can I pick up my item?

Unfortunately not. We do not currently have a brickand mortar location.

Whatis your pre-order (pre-sale) policy?

Many of the comics we offer are available for pre-order.These comics will be shipped within the week it has been released.

Pre-orders cannot be cancelled by the buyer:Pre-order availability is beyond our control and there may be instances wherethere are publisher or distributor delays that do not allow us to ship youritem(s) within the week is was released. By pre-ordering from us youacknowledge that there may be possible delays, and to wait for your item to beshipped. For our part we agree to keep you informed and updated when publisheror distributor delays occur and the time frame for when you can expect youritem to ship.

We reserve the right to cancel a pre-order: this will onlyhappen in the case where a publisher cancels a product, delays it beyond reason,or our distributor does not fulfill an order, or fulfill it in full. In thecase of the later, we will fill our pre-orders in the order they were received.If your pre-order should be canceled we will provide you with a 100% refund via PayPal guaranteed!

Howis a pre-order item’s release date determined?

Release dates are provided to us by the publisher andor supplier. Please note special edition comics may have different releasedates then a normal edition. This will be noted in the listing.

Whywas my comic delayed?

The number of factors that can affect a comic’srelease date are too numerous to list, however in most cases delays are causedby a publisher not being able to produce their comic(s) by their announcedrelease date. Distributor delays can also occur, but are rare and usually for ashort period of time.

Please note that we have no control over publisheror distributor delays, and like you, can only wait for the item to be released.

Whatis your return policy?

Comic books are non-returnable. While we take everyprecaution in shipping your items to you, but we cannot be responsible forpackages once they are received by USPS. If your item(s) are damaged duringtransit, then please contact your local post office or USPS and file acomplaint. Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns in cases where USPS damagedyour item(s). Please note that all buyers are protected by ’s Buyer Protection Program.

Whatis your response policy?

We always leave response, usually within 24 hours ofyour item(s) being shipped. We also ask that you leave us response. Not only is it important in helping establish us as alegitimate business, but it helps us know how we are doing.
