Rare early original vintage cabinet card photograph of the famous Highland Lighthouse and cliffs on Cape Cod Massachusetts. View shows the lighthouse and support buildings as seen looking up from the Highland Cliffs. Caption on back reads, “Highlands Cliffs”.The Highland Light (previously known as Cape Cod Light) is an active lighthouse on the Cape Cod National Seashore in North Truro, Massachusetts. The current tower was erected in 1857, replacing two earlier towers that had been built in 1797 and 1831. It is the oldest and tallest lighthouse on Cape Cod.Photograph was taken by W. M. Smith who worked along with G. H. Nickerson.This is a vintage photograph and not a copy or reproduction.Cabinet Card photograph measures 4 1/2 x 7 inches and is in excellent condition with no bends, tears, or creases and is very sharp and has strong tones with good contrast and clarity.
