Lot of 7 stereoviews of Mt. Vernon, Virginia, the estate of George and Martha Washington. Includes 5 by N.G. (Newton) Johnson authorized by the estate, one by Luke C. Dillon marked 1884, and one by Gardner. All c. 1870s to 1880s. Stereoviews measure approximately 3-3/8” x 6-7/8”.
In fair condition, with minor scuffing and wear to edges and corners most boards. Loss to corners of one Johnson stereoview, along with the bottom left corner of the State Dining Room damaged. Labels and marginalia on back. General age-related toning to boards and images. Photographs remain in good condition and remain easy to view.
