Up for sale today is this British Columbia Highway 23 sign. Made to the exact provincial standards as used starting in roughly 1971 along this historic highway. Highway 23, also called the Nakusp–Mica Creek Highway, runs more or less along the banks of the Columbia River for its entire length. From Nakusp, it heads north to meet the Trans-Canada Highway in Revelstoke, then continues north into the wilderness. The road runs out at Mica Dam, the tallest dam in Canada, which impounds Kinbasket Lake. Original signs of this exact style have long since disappeared from the side of Highway 23. In the unlikely event one turns up on the collector's market, you can expect to pay hundreds or even thousands of dollars for it. So here's your chance to get your hands on a fantastic display piece...without breaking the bank. The sign is 20 by 23 inches, and weighs 8 lb. 9 oz.. This is a high quality, heavy steel sign.
