This ill-fated non-event comic stands as the best single example I can think of whereby \"art by committee\" nearly always sucks and fails...I mean, how many people \"collaborated\" on this cockamamie \"project\" that takes two solid years to read and goes absolutely nowhere? I guess they didn\'t know what to do after the George Romero zombie series \"Blackest night\", so they sucked their thumb and thought...HMNNN...after the BLACKEST NIGHT comes the BRIGHTEST DAY...not so, in this case... a massive drab dreary disappointment by some of the most storied creators in comics...Geoff Johns? Peter J Tomasi? Reis? Gleason? The rest? What transpired here? It\'s kind of a car crash can\'t look away kinda thing...It\'s so bad you have to read it to believe it...I bought it in monthly installments as it came out and every month I\'m thinking...they\'re leading up to something, be patient, hang in there, sumthin\'s gonna happen, but in the end...NO, Nothing, NADA ! This thing is THE ULTIMATE COMIC NUTHINBURGER! It\'s not uplifting, it\'s not inspiring, it\'s not even entertaining...by the time it sputters to it\'s conclusion, Swamp thing battles himself, Aqualad I guess gets laid and John Hellblazer Constantine stares at you in the final panel of the series with the caption...\"The Beginning\" WHAT? Huh? How? So this is a prelude of some sort? To what? Gas?
