Early in 1930s Bonney began manufacturing a new alloy steel that they promoted as the strongest known for tools. As one of the pioneers in alloy steel tools there claim might have been taken as true. The ZENEL line was produced in parallel with Bonney’s earliest alloy line, CV. In general, ZENEL tools stand the test of time quite well.The ZENEL line was eventually replaced by Bonaloy which was an improvement in their CV alloy of chrome-vanadium. ZENEL tools persisted until at least 1942 which is the date of manufacture (according to the forged-in \"K.T\") of this ZENEL DOE that was produced for Pratt-Whitney (PWA1173).The Wrench is work-smoothed, but it remains fully functional and could be put to work upon receipt.
