A first edition of Jonreed Lauritzen's 1967 classic book of early Spanish tales with an exceptional "matching" banner (pennant). Published by Little, Brown & Co., 1967. First printing. Hardcover in cloth.
Very Good overall condition. Octavo, 8 1/4" tall, 151 pages, red printed cover cloth, illustrated. A clean, neat hard cover first edition with light shelf wear; hinges and binding tight, paper cream white, no markings inside. No dust jacket. Some very faint adhesive marking on cover from a price sticker long peeled off.
The Banner...
In near-new condition layered felt with printing. Provenance... my parents traveled to Spain in the late 1970's and brought this pennant back. Check out the photos and see the details of it's construction. Stitchedand layered with individually printed pieces assembled. No fade, displayed for short time some 40 years ago, then stored in closed in box, vibrant red (photos to not do it justice).
A wonderful matching pair and beautiful gift.
