This listing is for a set of twenty-seven(27) \'Blondie\' Daily Comic Strips by Murat \'Chic\' Young. These are not reprints, these are original black and white strips cut from Newspapers published in March 1939. They are all 5C (Five-Column) Size, apprx 10\" x 3\" each.

Blondie (Boopadoop) began as one of the typical flapper gag strips of the 1920-30s. Unfortunately for it\'s creator, Chic Young, The Great Depression sapped the reading public\'s affinity for flappers. Young reversed course, had Blondie marry her funniest suitor (Dagwood Bumstead), and ended up with the prototype for the working class married couple comic strip. The gags of blondie and dagwood would last many decades and are still found in today\'s newspapers.

These strips are in pretty good condition. The paper quality is a very supple off-white except for tanning across the top. The print quality is fine with sharp Black and White lines. These are extremely collectable comic strips(see pics provided).
