Black Panther #1 (Marvel Comics January 1977):
$366.73

This Black Panther #1 comic book is a truly rare comic due to the low print run and it features the iconic superhero created by the indomitable master editor Stan Lee with the legendary artistry of Jack Kirby and his inker Mike Royer. The Black Panther ((T'Challa ) first appeared in Fantastic Four #52 July 1966) is the King of the fictional African nation of Wakanda. This story, titled "King Solomon's Frog," takes place in the Marvel Bronze-Age Universe and features the Black Panther before he joins the Avengers. This first edition, first printing, collector's edition comic book has been bagged and boarded and is in a 9.0 Very Fine/Near Mint (85-90% Near Mint) grade condition. The comic book is a single, color and English issue with a Jack Kirby cover art published by Marvel Comics in January 1977, this comic is a must-have for general audiences who love action, adventure, superheroes, fantasy, and fiction.
The primary collectible aspects of the comic book include the artist/writer Jack "King" Kirby and inker Mike Royer,; and introducing us to Black Panther's own breakaway ongoing series.
I picked this this comic book up 30 years ago and have had it bagged & boarded in a cedar chest for its protection. I knew then that this was going to be a key book(a true key book); because Black Panther became one of Marvel's first (if not the first) and primary black superheros. Right about the same time of this on-going series was the introduction of a Black Goliath (played by Lawrence Fishburne in "Ant-Man and the Wasp") on-going series. Marvel was attempting to expand their reading audience from the traditional white male youth by introducing non-traditional role models; "Black Panther" & "Black Goliath" towards the African-American males and MS Marvel for the young female audience. (I also have those #1 issues)
