The female has a dignified pose and is dressed in a fancy hoop dress along with a scarf - if you look closely you can see a brooch pinned to it. The photographer looks to have emphasized her elegant dress by colorize the fashionable scarf which she is wearing. Photographs of African American\'s from this era are rare. However itis exceptional to find one of among them where the person is dressed in such fine attire of the period. Measures 2 1/4\" x 4\" inches.
