This is a low grade item. It will be complete and readable, but will show significant wear. Allowed defects for this grade include: spine roll, a moderate amount of staining or water damage, writing or other marks on the cover, up to one inch spine splits or other tears, a cover or centerfold that is detached at one staple, discoloration due to oxidation, and a minor piece or pieces missing. An item could be assigned this grade due to either an accumulation of minor/moderate defects or one or two major defects.

Description

Note about \"Newsstand\" vs \"Direct\" editions: some comics printed during this time period were published for sale in both the direct market (comic stores) and at newsstand locations such as grocery stores or convenience stores. In many cases, the only difference between the two versions is the presence of either a barcode or small logo where the barcode would otherwise be. Most collectors consider both versions to be of equal value. If the only difference is the presence of the logo or the barcode, we do not distinguish between newsstand or direct editions, so it is possible that the comic you receive could have a barcode even if our listing image shows a logo, or vice versa.

In cases where there is a significant difference between the newsstand and direct editions, such as one having a foil cover, different color scheme, or other clear variation, we will list the newsstand and direct editions as two separate listings and they will be clearly labeled as such, so you will be able to select which version you want.

In 1955, an adventure anthology comic debuted from DC Comics featuring some of the best art and stories of the day. Since it featured the adventures of such heroes of yore as The Silent Knight, The Viking Prince, The Golden Gladiator and Robin Hood, the comic was aptly titled THE BRAVE & THE BOLD. In the 1960s, the format of B&B changed to feature team-ups of DC super-heroes until, with B&B #74, Batman became permanent guardian of the title, appearing with a host of guest stars over the next 126 issues. Now DC re-presents some of the best of the best from the pages of THE BRAVE & THE BOLD in this 6-issue Deluxe Format mini-series. Leading off the series is the classic team-up of Batman and Green Arrow from B&B #85, written by Bob Haney and featuring the art of longtime BRAVE & BOLD penciller Neal Adams. Rounding out the book are a trio of stories from the earliest days of the title, including a tale of The Golden Gladiator, with art by Russ Heath, Joe Kubert\'s Viking Prince (both from B&B #1), and The Silent Knight, also by Heath (from B&B #5). These masterworks from the past are surrounded by an all-new wraparound cover by one of today\'s best artists, Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez.
