Description:

This beautiful important rare early 19th century French classical scenic toile has a natural linen background color with classical vignettes of cupids, horses, figures, buildings, palm trees , birds and elephants. The figures and motifs are all in a faded wine color, all beautifully printed. This lovely toile had been used as a curtain, the bottom part of the toile has a scalloped finish. There is a woven trim on both sides of the fabric. See photos for reference

51 inches in Length by 33 inches in Width

Condition:

Good - the toile is quilted and the back of the fabric is also in linen. There are a few stains- but still a wonderful early toile for collectors!
