The regiment participated in a charge at the Battle of Waterloo on 18 June 1815. The charge is recorded by Richard Cannon in his Historical Record of The Fifteenth, or the King's Regiment of Light Dragoons, Hussars:

'as the Fifteenth were moving to their right to cross a ravine, a large body of Cuirassiers and other Cavalry were seen carrying all before them on the open ground between Hugomont and La Haye Sainte, and their Lancers were shouting in triumph. The brigade instantly moved towards its former post, and the Thirteenth and Fifteenth charged and drove back the Cuirassiers, with the most distinguished gallantry'.

At Waterloo the Regiment had 3 Officers and 25 Other Ranks killed.

The Regiment were also involved in one of the darker parts of 19th century British history. On 16th August 1819 they were called upon by local magistrates the breakup a large crowd of around 60,000 to 80,000 men, women and children who had gathered on St Peter’s Field, Manchester, to demand political reform. Concerned that the gathering would end in riot or even rebellion a large number of Regular troops and Militia Yeomanry were deployed in the area. The crowd started to panic when Special Constables and Yeomanry were sent in to arrest key speakers, the Yeomanry drew their sabres and started slashing at the crowd to clear the way and to destroy banners and flags and at this point the 15th Hussars were then called upon to disperse the crowd. Within 10 minutes the crowd had been dispersed but at the civilian cost of 11 dead and more than 600 wounded.
