Wire Wrapped Beads
1. The Bead and Wire Chain This is an extremely versatile technique which can be used for making bracelets, necklaces, or even earrings, so it\'s no surprise that\'s it has been so well received. In addition to making a chain using wire and beads, many wire lovers also like to wrap the beads in the chain with wire. As with the chain itself, this method of wire work is pretty has endless possibilities.

2. If wrap the beads you need to take a few extra steps.you\'ll need: Wire, Beads,Round-nosed pliers,Wire cutters,Chain-nosed pliers,Jewelers\' files.

3. Use dead-soft wire for this. The size of wire depends on the size of the hole in your beads. However, the sizes will vary. For example, if I\'m using pearls to make this type of chain, I usually use 24 or 26 gauge sterling or gold-filled wire. If my beads are a little larger, I like to use 20, 21, or 22 gauge wire.
Agate:
is a type of quartz (silica), chiefly chalcedony, characterised by its fineness of grain and brightness of color. The colorful agate and other chalcedonies were obtained over 3,000 years ago from the Achates River, now the Drillo, in Sicily.
The stone\'s name derives (via Latin and French) from Greek molochitis, \"mallow-green stone\", from moloche, variant of malache, \"mallow\". Malachite was used as a mineral pigment in green paints from antiquity until about 1800.It is also used for decorative purposes, such as in the Malachite Room in the Hermitage which features a huge malachite vase. \"The Tazza\", one of the largest pieces of malachite in North America and a gift from Tsar Nicholas II, stands as the focal point in the center of the room of Linda Hall Library.

Large quantities of malachite have been mined in the Urals. It is found in the Democratic Republic of Congo; Tsumeb, Namibia; Ural mountains, Russia; Mexico; Broken Hill, New South Wales; England; Lyon.

In Israel, malachite is extensively mined at Timna, often called King Solomon\'s Mines. Archeological evidence indicates that the mineral has been mined and smelted at the site for over 3,000 years. Most of Timna\'s current production is also smelted, but the finest pieces are worked into silver jewelry.

Formation and characteristics:
Most agates occur as nodules in volcanic rocks or ancient lavas where they represent cavities originally produced by the disengagement of volatiles in the molten mass which were then filled, wholly or partially, by siliceous matter deposited in regular layers upon the walls. Such agates, when cut transversely, exhibit a succession of parallel lines, often of extreme tenuity, giving a banded appearance to the section. Such stones are known as banded agate, riband agate and striped agate.
In the formation of an ordinary agate, it is probable that waters containing silica in solution -- derived, perhaps, from the decomposition of some of the silicates in the lava itself -- percolated through the rock and deposited a siliceous coating on the interior of the vapour-vesicles. Variations in the character of the solution or in the conditions of deposit may cause corresponding variation in the successive layers, so that bands of chalcedony often alternate with layers of crystalline quartz. Several vapour-vesicles may unite while the rock is viscous, and thus form a large cavity which may become the home of an agate of exceptional size; thus a Brazilian geode lined with amethyst and weighing 67 tons was exhibited at the Dusseldorf Exhibition of 1902.

The first deposit on the wall of a cavity, forming the \"skin\" of the agate, is generally a dark greenish mineral substance, like celadonite, delessite or \"green earth\", which are rich in iron probably derived from the decomposition of the augite in the enclosing volcanic rock. This green silicate may give rise by alteration to a brown iron oxide (limonite), producing a rusty appearance on the outside of the agate-nodule. The outer surface of an agate, freed from its matrix, is often pitted and rough, apparently in consequence of the removal of the original coating. The first layer spread over the wall of the cavity has been called the \"priming\", and upon this base zeolitic minerals may be deposited.

Many agates are hollow, since deposition has not proceeded far enough to fill the cavity, and in such cases the last deposit commonly consists of quartz, often amethyst, having the apices of the crystals directed towards the free space so as to form a crystal-lined cavity, or geode. On the disintegration of the matrix in which the agates are embedded, they are set free. The agates are extremely resistant to weathering and remain as nodules in the soil or are deposited as gravel in streams and shorelines.

Agate beliefs:
In many traditions agate is believed to cure the stings of scorpions and the bites of snakes, soothe the mind, prevent contagion, still thunder and lightning, promote eloquence, secure the favour of the powerful, and bring victory over enemies.[citation needed] Persian magi are also known to have prized agate rings in their work and beliefs.Shia Muslims often wear an agate ring on the right hand, the stone engraved with the name of Allah, Ali, or the names of the other eleven Imams. It is known as \"aqaq\" or \"agag\" in Persian.
