Authentic Rare Vintage True Melmac Tangerine 5pc Nesting Measuring Cups/Bowls:

The rarest colors from the 1950’s melmac measuring nesting bowls are lavender and tangerine. This tangerine set was from my grandmother’s gift from others “save box” . When she got a gift from someone she would display it in her home and then at some point she would tuck it away in her “save box” . Many things I have found over the years have come from these boxes. Very often items are still in original packaging. I never remember seeing her ever use any measuring cups. I don’t even remember any cookbooks in her house. She was an amazing baker and cook unlike my grandma on the other side of the family. I can’t imagine how she came to own these as no one in the poverty stricken grey warehouser town had the money for such a gift and if they did they would know she would never have reason to use them. So I have 5 complete sets of these , which clearly I can’t possibly use all of them and tragically I don’t have any place to store or display them. I have already sold one set and will be listing the more common blue set later.

Authentic Rare Vintage True Melmac Nesting Measuring Cups/Bowls. They are visually fabulous and would make for a bright display in any home.

These are the REAL 1950’s/ 1960’s 's vintage Melmac in the rare Tangerine orange color. These nesting measuring bowls are free from chips or nicks. The interior is bright and shiny and the exterior is the original mat finish which makes them not slippery. Each bowl is marked with the M in the circle on the exterior bottom. They have the marked measurements in the bottom of each bowl inside as well as on the bottom ( only the vintage ones are like this) Only the true vintage melmac have the measurements on the bottom and an M in a circle on the exterior bottom base. The newer ones have the measurements on the sidelines.

The ones made in China are usually dishwasher safe. THESE are NOT EVER safe to put in any dishwasher.

NEVER use in microwave or dishwasher as they will be destroyed forever.

Most of the Chinese reproductions have the measurement on the inside of the interior. The measurement mark is on the inside wall unlike the authentic Melmac which is on the interior bottom and the exteriors base. The new ones are marked made in China and dishwasher safe on the bottoms .

Please do not confuse these with the currant reproductions that are Easily available today . These are true authentic Melmac measuring cups/bowls in this impossible to find tangerine color. The color is as bright as when they were new. Should you desire more photos please message me and I will take some additional photographs,but as you can see each bowl is in excellent condition.

1st bowl = 1/8 to 1/4 cup

2nd bowl = 1/4 to 1/2 cup

3rd bowl = 1/2 to 1 cup

4th bowl = 3/4 to 1 1/2 cups

5th bowl = 1 cup to 2 cups

Please never ever put these in the dishwasher. These are the original melmac bowls are were never made in a way that would be safe to put in the dishwasher. Nor should you leave these soaking in soapy or oily water. These will stain. Please note that these have been stored away since 1988.
