Authentic Navy Deck Log of the USS Bell DD587, Feb 1944-December 1944 11 months:
$2745.25

This listing is for an authentic US Naval Deck Log book from the Fletcher-Class Destroyer United States Ship BELL DD587. The 11 month long log dates are from February 1 through December 31, 1944, with the month of January missing. Receiving 12 battle stars for her service during World War II, the BELL\'s daily logs reflect life aboard the ship and the people who were serving on her.
The pages are brown with age, the metal clasps are rusty, and some pages are loose from their binding.February and March are together in one metal clasp. I cannot guarantee that each day of the month is included, as I did not go through each page.
Some of the other ships mentioned in the deck logs include:
USS Portland, Erbin, Connor, Lackawanna, Monterey, Nassau, Big Horn, Minneapolis, New Orleans, Brown, Cimarron, Platte, Cowell, Essex, South Dakota, Alabama, Cowpens, Bunker Hill, Prairie, Boyd, Markab, Caldwell, Hornet, Lexington, McDermut, Charrette,Izard, Phelps and Flying Fish.

If you want to know more about the BELL, read her story online. The action that BELL was engaged in are noted in these pages and it is surreal to read it from these logs, knowing a person on the ship typed the words and was a part of what was going on. Each daily page is signed in ink by four Lieutenants, the Commander and the Navigator. BELL participated in many war time operations, assisting other crews and even blowing up a Japanese submarine. She was later sunk as a target in 1975.
