100% Original footlocker find. The strap is extremely fragile and should not be used. you can carefully open it, (and I mean carefully) and shut it without further damaging it but any hard pulling is going to tear it.

would I use it to carry to the range?. absolutely not. would I use it to display my collectible World War II pistol in or next too. absolutely. offered as a historic display piece only. unfortunately, no information on the G.I. other than he was a relative of the deceased. we purchased most of what was in the footlocker, including his helmet, hoping to get a name came up with nothing. please other listings for the helmet and camouflage pants.
