This teapot is preowned and NOT in brand new condition. There are flaws with the pot. Some of these flaws will be detailed further down in the listing. This is no original packaging or paperwork available for this item. The design on this pot depicts geisha girls surrounded by a body of water with buildings in the background. Also in the design are fish, paper lanterns and various plants and other images of nature. The handle and spout to the pot is painted red on the outside and are mostly white and devoid of red paint on the interior or in the case of the handle, the side that is facing the teapot. The pot is trimmed in red with yellow dots. The lid has an arched handle with the same type of scene depicted on the top of the lid. The upper part of the lid also shows buildings, paper lanterns, and nature. The lid is also trimmed with red with the same dots as with the top of the pot.
If this pot is intended for use instead of just a display piece the temperature limits and care instructions such as microwave or dishwasher use is unknown. Height: Approximately 7.625" (Measurement taken from the top of the arched handle on the lid to the bottom of the pot.)Width: Approximately 6.25" (Measurement taken from the outermost curve of the handle on the side of the pot to the edge of the spout.)
Condition of the teapot: (Also please see the attached photos for visuals of the pot's condition.)
There is very visible scratching and scuffing that has resulted in a loss of color throughout the teapot and lid. There is visible staining/discoloration throughout in various places on both the pot and the lid.
There is visible scratching, scuffing, and staining/discoloration on the underside of the pot. (Please see attached photo #6 for a visual.)
The edges of the spout, especially where the paint has started to flake off, are rougher to the touch when compared to the rest of the spout. (Please see attached photo #9 for a top side visual of the spout.)
There are various and very visible places throughout both the pot and the lid where the paint has either been worn away or even scratched off with preowned usage and handling. There are places on the top of the pot where paint was either missed while the pot was painted or the paint has worn away. Running a finger across these areas, there were no edges that were going to cut, but one of the areas does feel a bit rougher. (Please see attached photos #7, #8 and #9 for visuals.)
There was no breakage or chips that were noticed upon inspection.
Please note: The painting on this piece was not done within the "lines" of the piece. The color applied was sometimes done around the object that was being painted.
Even with the flaws, this charming pot would make a wonderful piece for display and is not too large and won't take up a great amount of space. There are no returns accepted for this piece.
