The Charlie B Gallery of Carson City, Nevada is offering this really nice \"Raven in The Moon\" Arts and Crafts Revival tile for sale by Kathy Jones of the kaPHE Pottery. From the artist\'s site:Growing up in Seattle, Washington I was always attracted to the architecture there. My first impressions were mostly of the art deco period. It was not until my hands touched clay in 2018 that I found myself fascinated with craftsman ideals and styles of the Arts and Crafts period where William Morris stated, “Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be beautiful or believe to be useful”. I believe we are in a period again where hand craftsmanship is undergoing a revival of appreciation. Nothing tugs us back to reality more than nature and art.
My work is part of the permanent collection of the Vasefinder Ceramic Art Museum in Carson City, Nevada. New work is available at the Charlie B Gallery, Carson City, Nevada. My techniques are primarily hand throwing, but can include hand building, carving, and sculpting. I am currently continuing studies in glaze chemistry. I took a course in stained glass in February 2023 as I have a goal to incorporate the two mediums as in Fulper lamps.
This is signed withkaPHÉ mark, as shown with studio number. There are no post-firing issues, such as chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. This has a very handmade feel and has some areas of lightness in the execution of the tile. This tile would fit well into a bungalow or Arts and Crafts era decor. All fragile merchandise is shipped using the \"double box\" process.
This measures approximately 7.875 inches by 4 inches by .25 inches thick.
