Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington [1769 1852] was an Irish statesman, soldier and British Tory politician who was one of the leading military and political figures of the 19th century. He served twice as prime minister of the United Kingdom and was one of the military commanders who won and ended the Napoleonis Wars, including the defeat of Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. Listed for sale is the signature of Arthur Wellesley signed on a page most likely a postal panel. The signature is signed \'\'September eight 1836 free Wellington\'\' in dip pen. The page measures 3.25 x 5.00 inches with trivial toning otherwise it is in fine condition and is affixed to a page. The autograph was acquired by a Mrs. Ida Hallows during the 1890\'s. Mrs. Harrows placed the autographs on pages and added bio information and occasionally artwork. The display page measures 7.50 x 9.00 inches. The signature is authentic, dated and ideal for display.
