Arizona State Route 88 route marker.

Up for sale today is this Arizona state route 88 sign. Made to the exact 1935 or so standard, that hastily supplanted the original 1927-style route marker. the original markers featured the Native American whirling logs symbol. unfortunately, said symbol looks just like a particular emblem of an onerous German regime, so the highway signs were quickly modified—some were even painted over in the field!

( flags the listing if I even mention the name of the symbol. or the name of the regime. y\'all can figure it out. ask your grandpa.)

An original of these would cost many thousands of dollars if it ever came to the market. So here is your chance to own an excellent display piece, for just a fraction of the price.

The sign is 10 by 12 inches, and weighs 2 lb. 15 oz.

This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!
