Antique 19th century, c1880s/1890s original Occupational cabinet card photograph. Depicts an intriguing image of a either a field worker/farmer, miner or perhaps a cranberry bogger? The man is wearing overalls tucked into rubber wader boots and he is holding an iron hand tool that looks like a rake of sorts. He is wearing his shirt partially over his head and appears to be wearing a backpack. To his right his a chair with basket and pan on it. Behind the man many small huts can be seen; perhaps a miners camp or workers camp? The man has a chin strap beard. Sepia photo mounted to rigid cabinet card backing. No identifying markings or inscriptions. Provenance comes from a eastern Massachusetts area estate.
In Very Good overall condition. Clean and crisp with only gentle signs of handling. No creases, bends, rips or tears. Comes housed in a protective clear plastic sleeve.
Measures 4 5/8” x 3 5/8” and 5 1/4” x 4 1/4” with the matting.
