Known as “tramp art” and made popular in the late 1800s,these carved folk art wood pieces were made using found things, old wood, bottle caps, and cigar boxes.
This frame is a wonderful example of carved rough wood puttogether with glue and old square head nails to form an extended square.
Each one of the four corners has carved maple-type leaves, showing old square head nails attaching them to the frame.
