Very nice antique solid brass blow torch with a solid red painted wood handle! The knob appears to be bakelite & is embossed with Otto Bernz Rochester NY. The other metal knob appears to be marked 87 which is the model number. It appears from some research the company moved to Rochester from Jersey City in the early 1940. It was shortly after renamed bernzomatic. So this is before the renaming! Probably dating to the late 1930s or early 1940s. This one retains the original hook on the top!
Condition is good it does appear to have some age and wear. It has a great natural patina! If you want to polish it they look great polished! I cannot speak to its functionality, I am not an expert on these! Its a great high quality piece made out of good quality materials! Use it as a steampunk display, restore it, turn it into a lamp or planter or use it! The options are endless!
I have a pair of these which I am selling separately if you want both let me know and we can work something out! They are the same model and about the same condition!
