From a collection of estate laces acquired years ago and recently resurfaced, this listing is for an antique handmade Belgian Brussels Duchesse & Point de Gaze lace flounce in ecru...
As stated soeloquentlyin the note in the last photo, \"It\'s amazing what a little lace can do!\" Such is the case regarding this handmade lace which is useful for embellishing pillows, doll apparel, cuffs, dress fronts, mini lamp shades, etc. In looped form, it feature a floral motif with vines and greenery, showcasing 4 dimensional Point de Gaze lace floralinserts, and is finished off with scalloped bottom edge, and entredeux along the top.
Measures overall ~4 inches wide, ~20 inches long, and finished all around.
In overall good condition considering age with yellowing, vey mild soilage, some scraggly threads, some fraying along the unfinished tape edges, a rare broken bride which can be reattached, and some small breaks in the silk net ground of the Point de Gaze lace cartouches. Though none are noted, there may be a rare small very light spot. Please enlarge photos for details.
