Antique Vintage Dixon Dixon\'s Medium Lumber Crayon No. 361 Made in USA - RARE - Japan Black Lacquer
A recent estate sale discovery, this vintage lumber crayon by Dixon is rare and hard to find.
It features a hexagon shape to prevent it from rolling off flat surfaces and has a solid graphite body.
A section of the original box label showed that it is \"Medium Soft Black Graphite\". The label is not included in the sale, it is for reference only.
The lumber crayon appears to have a glossy black lacquer or varnish coating on the handle, instead of a typical paper wrapper. Mrs. Edna believes this technique was called “Japanned” or “Japanning” and may date this item to the pre-1920s.
The handle is stamped with the following: No. 361 Made in U.S.A. Note: Due to its age, Mrs. Edna can\'t guarantee that this item will work as well as when it was first manufactured. She therefore is selling it as an interesting and unique collectible.
This item is in close to very good pre-owned antique vintage condition.
There are signs of wear from age, use and storage, which includes but is not limited to scuff/scratch marks, indents/dings and small nicks/pits.
