Today I have for you something I acquired recently from an estate it’s an Antique Our Lady Immaculate Conception w/hand beaded frame /border on the outside and in the inside under the glass ( convex /bubble glass) there are hand beaded flowers on top of what looks to be a lithographed background. This looks to be late 1800’s or early 1900’s , someone that was talented took a lot of time doing all this bead work , if I were to keep this (or even the next caretaker of this ) I think I’d have it all put into a nice deep shadowbox( deep enough to accommodate the convex glass) with glass that way all of the beads will stay clean and beautiful. The back of this piece is like a heavy cardstock or even a heavier poster board and it’s just wired into place onto the beaded frame with a thin copper wire , the piece measures approximately 9 inches x approximately 8 inches x approximately 1 1/2 inches deep/thick ( front - back ) .
