This is an estate find and I do not know much about it at all. I believe it is called a pandan/betel box. It is made of metal (and has some weight to it, weighs approx 3 pounds), but I am not sure of what type of metal. It does have some markings on one side, but the only one I can make out is "1827". This box has intricate designs, including fish & crosses. It has a hinged lid. Comes as shown in my photos.

Measures approx 6 1/2" tall (including the lid, but not including the handle), approx 8 1/4" wide (at the widest point), and approx 5 1/2" wide (across the opening).

Please note: part of one of the side latches is MISSING. This box shows general wear. I am not sure what to really look for to note, so please view all of my photos for the condition of the item; and message me with any questions prior to offerding. I am sure it could use a cleaning.
