Superb wide antique French Valenciennes insertion lace trim in a soft, subdued ivory color, somewhat lighter than may appear in the photos...
Useful for doll costuming, embellishment of garments, mini lamp shades, pillows, etc., this wide insertion trim features French Valenciennes lace which showcases a floral motif with greenery, berries or thistles, and is finished off with soft, sheer cotton anchored via tiny drawnwork along two sides. Original pencilmarkings noted along originating end.
Measures overall ~36 inches long and ~3&1/2 inches wide with the Valenciennes lace trim measuring ~3/4 inches wide.
Appears unused. In overall very good condition considering age, with age yellowing, fraying along the unfinished edges, very mild soilage, some storage wrinkles, a few light spots, and a rare tiny break. Please enlarge photos for details. *IMPORTANT-PLEASE READ CAREFULLY*
