GIBSON- This piece of folk art was constructed from a heavy steel cast metal housing from the 1920s era as well as many other antique/vintage parts ,,, along with some newer componets to create this piece of lighted art work.  The light was made to resemble an old Gibson amplifier and to be displayed proudly in someones collection or in your music shop as a wonderfull counter display. 

GIBSON CONDITION- The finish has a very fine metallic gold flake that shimmers in certain angles and lighting. There are imperfections such as some tiny paint chip specks and slight roughness in the finish in areas. There are casting seams on the back of the light and on the top back corner which was how the casting of the housing was made. (Pictured). 

GIBSON NOTABLE DETAILS-  The knobs have lighted position dots which were created by a small hole behind the dial to allow light to cascade through and illuminate the dial positions.  The dials do turn but do not have any functions. The light operates by a pushbutton switch on the lower front of the light.  The Gibson logo is a large heavy cast metal gold plated original logo from a vintage gibson amplifier. The light supports three spiraled amber bulbs that replicate vaccume tubes from an amplifier but produce a good amount of light for use as a lamp. Light shines well through the back of the lamp so will be great for back lighting also.  The bottom cover is beautiful as well and was made from a hammered metal plate with a unique floral design to add a touch of sophistication.

FENDER- The light is a very stout steel retro/atomic antique casing that can pivot front and backward for different angled positions. There are fender guitar accents within the inside of the light to add character and a salute to the infamous Stratocaster. The finish is a shiny and has an aged shell pink/salmon type color. There is aging and patina on the metal legs and thick metal bullseye rings in the center. There is also some knicks and scrapes on the housing. The light currently has an orange bulb which gives a nice amber/reddish glow. The light holds 1 candelabra sized bulb and you could basically place any bulb you like as long as it’s the candelabra sized threaded end.

Gibson-To change bulbs the bottom plate has 4 screws, remove and lower the panel down to change out bulbs when needed.

Fender- To change bulb remove 4 screws on sides of casing.

MEASUREMENTS GIBSON-

Approximately 15" wide x 11" tall x 7 1/2" thick/deep.

MEASUREMENTS FENDER-

Approximately 10” wide x 11 1/2” tall x 5 1/2” thick/deep at the legs.

These are a hand built folk artist tribute to Gibson & Fender guitar,  EXYREMELY unique and sure to turn heads everytime!

The Gibson light isn’t custom shop paint finish quality but yet very nice indeed and the only one of these in the world.
