Antique Swiss, Black Forest, Folk Art, Hand Carved Bread Plate
An Antique Swiss, Black Forest Hand Carved Bread Plate. The Plate is made from a single piece of wood and is marked in Swedish "Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread". It measures 14 1/4" x 11 1/2" overall and is darker in person than it appears in the photos. The Bread Plate is in good overall condition. There are just a few tiny inactive beetle holes. The back has four spots where the wood is chipped, perhaps from the vise the Carver had it in? The Bread Plate is perfect to use or as a Primitive, Folk Art Decoration.
