Description: I found this unusual little antique mirror in New Hampshire. Likely dating from the late 19th c, the mirror has traces of original white paint. The mirror glass is held in a round circular frame made of maple or similar hardwood. Beneath are two similar, semi-circular pieces that fold out to create a stand, or you can leave them flat to hang the mirror on a wall. It's an inventive and pleasing form. Most of the thin wooden backing has broken away to reveal paper backing from a publication illustrating / describing a contraption - possibly a well or septic system? Condition: In good overall antique condition. The mirroring has some wear. There is a split in the wood on the side. I have not tried to repair it, but the pieces can be pressed together, so it's possible to glue back tightly. The back is missing half of the original backing (See photos.)
