Here is another of my latest finds. It is a 1930\'s dress pattern that has scalloped areas in the front and back of the dress. I think this pattern was featured in a ladies magazine. In this time period you would just send away for new patterns. The large pattern making companies were just getting established in the 30\'s.
This type of dress could be worn to go shopping or to a luncheon. Ladies worn hats and gloves. This pattern should fit a lady with a bust of 38 inches and hips of 41 inches.You are buying a COPY of this pattern not an original. I will include any of the instructions that came with the original pattern. I will also include some alteration instructions for you to use as needed. The pattern has shorter scalloped sleeves but it tells you how to extend the sleeves to make them longer if desired.
The scalloped sections of the dress were top stitched in order to make it look fancy.
Ladies in the depression era had very little money and often made their own clothes. The wealthy women went to upscale department stores to buy clothes.
***I advice you to make a mock dress out of cheap fabric so you can alter the pieces to fit you.
