Antique RUDOLSTADT GERMANY Floral Bowl With Metal Trim 1904-1924:

The beautiful handpainted porcelain bowl was originally intended for use as a salad bowl, but it could also be used as a bulb planter, a shallow flower bowl, or filled with succulents! Produced by Rudolstadt Pottery in Germany, sometime between 1904-1924 based on the mark. The design features purple flowers on a trailing vine, accented with gold. The lower half of the bowl has a subtle ribbed texture. The top rim of the bowl is encircled with metal (perhaps tarnished silverplate?), which has a repeating design along the edge. Measures approximately 10" across and 4" tall.
The porcelain bowl is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or damage, but the metal rim is rusted and corroded around the interior. I am guessing that this is due to being used as a flower bowl as some point.
