Antique RPPC Baird Canyon, Copper River, Alaska E.A. Hegg Albertype Rare Original vintage postcard - unposted - Image from 1896 - 1913 Published by E.A. Hegg, Cordova, Alaska (Eric A. Hegg) Beautiful peaceful scene . . . Eric A. Hegg was a Swedish-American photographer who portrayed the people in Skagway, Bennett and Dawson City during the Klondike Gold Rush from 1897 to 1901. Hegg himself participated in prospecting expeditions with his brother and fellow Swedes while documenting the daily life and hardships of the gold diggers.. . further, he had a nomadic lifestyle and before leaving Alaska for a short time in Hawaii, Hegg lived in Nome and then in Cordova, where he worked forGuggenheim\'sCopper River and Northwestern Railwayuntil 1918. Thus, this photo was taken while he was living in Cordova and employed by the Railway . . . Condition: Very good condition - unposted - there is some remnants of an old album page on the back side that I have not tried to remove . . .
