Previously owned, good condition. This is an antique porcelain shaving mug with a shallow soap holding section and a deeper section to hold hotwater and mix the soap in preparation for shaving. This piece measures 2-1/2\" tall and is 3-1/2\" in diameter. This is a plain white glazed porcelainshaving mug decorated with gold-colored accents around the top edge, middle portion and handle. These mugs were very popular and widely usedbetween 1870-1920. Nearly every man had a shaving mug at home or at a local barber shop. For sanitation purposes mugs were not shared andwere often personalized with a name or decorated with a hand painted floral design or an occupation-related scene. The age and maker of thisshaving mug are unknown. There are no cracks, no chips, no crazing & no stain. Some of the gold-colored detail paint has faded & worn due to age-
related use.
