Antique Porcelain Perfume Bottle Scent Risque Lady French Chatelaine Limoges :

A rare and delightful antique porcelain chatelaine style perfume/ scent bottle
with beaded brass chain and original hand blown glass stopper.
An attractive lady, in a risqué pose, with cascading dark decorates one side of the bottle.
She is framed by some gold gilt fronds of foliage.
Made in France, possibly Limoges, but unmarked.
The teardrop shaped bottle has a flat base/ bottom and including the hinged cap, it measures 9cm long.
The cap, chain and ring are all made of brass, there is some light verdigris.
The bottle is in very good condition, there are no chips or cracks to the outside;
on the inside rim of the neck, a hard paste was used at the time of manufacture
to secure the brass collar into place, over time with the action of opening and closing the bottle
there is some wear and the paste has moved/a very small piece of the paste
is missing (please see the last three photos); there is some verdigris on the brass;
the brass cap has some dents, but the chain is not broken.
Minimal wear to the giled fronds of foliage.
The finial of the original glass stopper is pefect, as is the neck,
but there are a couple of tiny fleabites to the bottom edge (photo 21).
