Antique Ornately Decorated Repousse Moulded Cowan Metal Tray Brewing Beer Theme HopsThis heavy tray is decorated with detailed scenes around the border.
In the four corners, hops plants on the vine are depicted.On one end, people are shown preparing the hops for brewing beer.On the other end, barrels are loaded on a wagon.One of the long sides of the tray shows people gathering in and making merry in front of a thatched roof building.On the other side, is what looks like a tavern with revelers on horseback.
The middle of the tray is fashioned to look like wood grain, even though the entire tray is metal.
The tray measures 13\" x 9 1/4\" and weighs 3.5 pounds.
It is marked Cowan Chicago on the bottom. The bottom is brass.I believe that it dates to the early twentieth century.
It is in good antique condition.
